Dr. Bürklin-Wolf estate has a tradition dating back to 1597, one of the largest and most important in Germany. Dr. Albert Bürklin’s eldest daughter, Bettina Bürklin-von Guradze, inherited the estate in 1990. Her vision is to produce top quality Rieslings in harmony with nature. Therefore, she converted the entire vineyard into biodynamics in 2001, and got the certification in 2008.
Wachenheimer Altenburg is situated high on the slope and east-facing where it enjoys optimum sunshine with gravel and sandstone soils, providing excellent drainage. Wines often showing mineral character.
