Jean and Agnès Foillard took over their father's domaine in 1980. It is grounded on the famous area of Côte du Py, Morgon. Jean switched the vineyard's farming towards more natural ways: no synthetic herbicides or pesticides. He also started working with old vines, later harvesting, and rigorous sorting which is contrary to the trend in Beaujolais. During winemaking, there is no addition of sulphur dioxide whenever possible and never applies chaptalization and filtration. The resulting wines are one of the best in Beaujolais, with great complexity and ability to age.
Fleurie is a Cru in Beaujolais, often regarded as the 'Queen of Beaujolais', usually showing floral and silky characters. This wine used traditional, whole cluster fermentation, and aged in used oak barrels to 6 - 9 months.
